We are thrilled to announce that the Caseyville Public Library has FitBit’s to check out with your library card! Patrons can check out single FitBits to use or larger kits that include 5 FitBits for group walkers or friends that like to participate in fitness activities together.
The CPLD was awarded the “Resolve to Stay Active: A FitBit Kit for Your Community” grant funded by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM) and the National Institute of Health (NIH).
The library has also created a BOOK-IT Club that combines one’s love of reading while promoting physical activity. Starting in May, BOOK-IT group members can meet at the CPLD to walk from 9:00-10:00am on the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Saturday of each month.
Unable to meet in person to walk together - not a problem! The Caseyville Public Library has also created a Facebook BOOK-IT group. Members provide motivation and support, book recommendations, healthy recipes, share fun walking trails or other physical activities/events, and more!
This wonderful grant opportunity and the BOOK-IT Club are part of the library’s Looking Out For You health initiative. Click the following link for more information: More info: Looking Out for You
